I'm a New England-based documentary photographer + filmmaker.
In addition to freelancing, I've produced several short documentaries and educational films on subjects ranging from land preservation, women’s reproductive health, mindfulness curriculums in elementary schools, and education opportunities in remote Nepal.
I aspire to mindfully connect with each of my subjects to co-create empowering work to produce intentionally honest imagery.
"Augusta's photographic technique is unprecedented in skill. She knows how to produce timeless photos to be remembered and held on to for generations to come, as her images beautifully illuminate emotions in a deeply profound way. Working with her was effortless in that we didn't have to tell Augusta what we wanted in a picture - she felt what we needed and captured it."

“Augusta Rose has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She started taking pictures for us at Calmer Choice in 2010 and has participated in many events as our photographer. Her work is professional and artistic and she is able to capture the feel and energy of each of the events from the DeStress Express Road Race to the Adult Spelling Bee to blending into the back of a classroom of 3rd graders learning mindfulness. Her work is amazing and has been used in various publications and marketing materials for us over the last 4 years. She has been an asset to our organization and is missed now that she is no longer living on Cape Cod!!”
— Fiona Jensen, President and Executive Director of Calmer Choice
“Having Augusta as your photographer is so much more relaxing and natural-feeling than other processes I’ve been through. She really just puts you at ease, and takes photos in natural light so you are not squinting or feeling as if every pore and hair is going to stand out. Compared to going to a studio, working with Augusta is a breath of fresh air – figuratively and literally!”
— Julie Fraser, Founder of Present Source
“Working with Augusta was a complete joy. Always professional, our shots were quickly edited and presented to us. We were thrilled with the results. During the shoot, she made us feel comfortable and relaxed. The entire session was fluid and natural. Her style of photography allowed our family to shine and that is reflected in every shot. She picked a great setting for us, after listening to our desires. She even got our dog to smile. We will treasure our photographs for years to come. We will be using her again in the future!”
— Jessica Paschke, empathic medium
“Augusta has a unique eye when it comes to photography. She uses natural lighting which makes her pictures simple yet beautiful. She’s very personable and will make anyone feel comfortable. I normally don’t like my picture taken, but the finished product looked organic and real. You wouldn’t be able to tell!”
