PRESERVING LEGACY MISSION STATEMENT

Now more than ever, there is an inherent need to place value on the stories of the aging population. When we document their recollection of their life, we empower them and ourselves simultaneously. It's remarkable what we can learn from our elders when we know what to ask them, and take the time to listen.

One of the most accessible and emotive means to do this is through photographic storytelling. By sharing this intergenerational wisdom through a lens of gratitude, this insight into their lives can serve as an invitation for us to foster a deeper appreciation for the struggles we all face, individually and collectively.

Preserving Legacy is a specialized documentary photo service that provides an opportunity for families to capture moments they wish to pass on for future generations to cherish. Each photoshoot is custom tailored to showcase the specific passions and values of each loved one in order to authentically celebrate their life and keep their legacy alive.

Discovering more about my own ancestral roots has inspired me to create this offering. One of the most significant role models in my life is my grandmother, an antiques dealer and curator of our historical family home, the Benjamin Nye Homestead and Museum.

Sometimes, the juxtaposition of the two most “vulnerable” beings in society can illustrate how important and significant their existence is. This sweet and innocent interaction reminds us of what we can learn from devotional connections based on unconditional love.
